Programme 01

Gardens that feed pupils and teach them

School and community gardens are where our work began, and they are still at the heart of it.

Hunger keeps children out of class and makes it hard to learn when they are there. A garden puts fresh food close to them and turns the school grounds into a science lab. Under this programme we set up school and community gardens, plant trees with our Climate Club, build greenhouses and advise schools and organizations that want their own.

What it covers

Inside this programme

School and community gardens

Beds, sack gardens and nurseries built with pupils, parents and teachers, sized to the space each school has.

Tree planting

Learners plant trees around their schools and look after them. More than 2,000 so far.

Greenhouse farming

Protected beds that shield seedlings and let schools grow through more of the year. Our greenhouse is on New Road, Awoyaya, Lagos State.

Smart garden consultancy

We design and set up greenhouses, drip irrigation and composting for schools, individuals and organizations.

Project 10:10:10

Ten schools every quarter

Every quarter our team visits 10 schools and guides learners as they set up a garden of their own. Food insecurity pulls down attendance and grades, so each new garden is one more step toward closing the education gap.

Climate Club

Young climate leaders

Our Climate Club gives learners the knowledge and skills to lead climate action in their own schools. They plant trees, manage plastic waste and speak up for their environment.

2,000+ trees planted
700kg of plastic waste turned into learning materials
Jute bags made to replace single-use plastic
First runner-up at the Global Interschool Earth Quest Climate Championship in 2023 and 2024, across five countries

Consultancy

Setting up a smart garden or greenhouse

We pair you with experts who guide you through three stages.

01

Gardens and greenhouses

We look at your site, sunlight and water, then plan and build the garden or greenhouse with your team.

02

Drip irrigation and compost

We fit drip lines that save water and set up composting so the soil keeps feeding itself.

03

STEM in the curriculum

We write activities that turn the space into a classroom, so it gets used every week.
